If dog safety is important, then a dog restraint might be just what you are looking for.

The best way to survive an accident is, not to get into one in the first place. Dog safety is something we should think about.

Out of all the accidents in the United States,  A large amount are caused by distracted driving. Maybe you’re talking on the phone or texting, or maybe your dog is jumping around. Consider getting a dog restraint.

I know you love your dog and you like to have him (or her) ride along with you in your vehicle, right? Yes of course I understand. My dog rides with me too. However, if your dog is anything like mine he really gets excited when he goes for a ride in the car. And if he’s not restrained, he can jump back and forth and can get in the way.

In the states of Maine, Illinois, Connecticut, and Hawaii, It’s a violation to drive with a dog on your lap. And in the state of New Jersey, a law that would require a dog to wear a seatbelt is up for debate. So getting a restraint for your dog is not just a good idea. It may even become law.

Whether or not your dog will have a better chance of survival if your dog is in an accident while in a dog restraint is up for debate. However, keeping your dog out of your way while you’re driving can help you keep your attention where it should be. On the road.

There’s enough to keep your attention on while driving. It’s best if you keep distractions down to a minimum. So no talking on the phone, no texting, and no having your dog jump all over you.

Dog safety is something we can all live with.

In my next post, I’ll be talking about the different types of restraints that you can use.
